Letters to the Academy
Letters to the academy should be addressed in the following ways:
1. To the Principal on all matters concerning whole school policy.
2. To the Tutor for absence and day-to-day matters.
Tutors will consult with the Heads of House/Phase Leaders where necessary.
Making an appointment
From time to time you may wish to come to the academy to discuss a particular matter with a member of staff. We are pleased and willing to help you organise this and would ask you to make your appointment in the following way:
In the first instance please ring or write to the academy, explaining your wish to arrange a meeting. Once the meeting has been arranged, please report to the academy reception on the day of your appointment where the Secretary will put you in touch with the member of staff concerned.
The academy office is open Monday – Friday 8.30 a.m. – 4.30 p.m.
The academy telephone should NOT be used for giving messages to students, and should not be used except in cases of emergency or for making appointments.
The Principal or any member of the Leadership Team will see parents by appointment.
Schoolcomms is a new form of communication developed by the Academy. It allows King’s Oak and parents to keep in close contact via email and text message enabling both parties to pass on information quickly to each other. The Academy newsletter and other notices of events will also be available so that you will be fully aware of all that is happening at King’s Oak. If you would like to sign up to this, please request an application form from the Academy reception.
